Life with Baby(and Her Temper)

Our daughter will be turning 15 months old in a couple of days, and she already has a mind of her own. She knows what she wants and she wants it now. She started throwing fits when she was 6 months old, and unfortunately they have only gotten worse. At first she would only show herself at home, but now she will hit me, my husband, and even herself out in public. Although, there was a brief moment when the "tantrums" seemed to disappear. And I do mean brief. So, here's my question, "What do you do?" And who did she get her temper from anyway?

Even though her tantrums are nerve racking, I do like knowing that she is strong-willed. Some may see this as a negative characteristic, and I agree that it does hold some negative connatations. However, I'm hoping that this quality will help her from falling prey to peer-pressure or even allowing others to cut her down. I want her to have a strong since of who she is and what she is about. I don't want to break her, but I don't want her tantrums now to fuel future anger issues.

So, here again, I ask, "What do you do?"
