Tis the Season!...(and the Tinsel)

It's that time again. You know, the trees, the lights, the presents, and the tinsel. Yes, you heard me right. Tinsel. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of tinsel. Just give me garland, lights, and ornaments, but no tinsel please.

I mean, what is the purpose to tinsel anyways? It covers up your ornaments, lights, and what ever else you may have on the tree. If you don't want your adornments to be seen, then don't put any on.

Also, the mess. Oh, the mess. You know what I'm talking about if you have pets or small children. By the end of the day, there is more tinsel on my daughter and the floor than on the tree.

My mother's tree is covered in tinsel, and I have to admit that it does look pretty. That is, until you look at the two bottom rows of branches. They remind me of Charlie Brown's poor little Christmas tree, courtesy of my daughter of course.

Yes, sure, tinsel is pretty and sparkley, but is it really worth the time and effort? Personally, I have enough to clean up already without adding tinsel into the equation.

So, whether you put tinsel on your tree or not, have a very merry Christmas!

I Made It!

Class is over, but finals still loom. I have made it through my first semester back in college after 3 years. Yes, 3 years might not seem like a long absence from class routines and such, but add a husband, a 20 month old, and just life in general and see what you get.

Okay, okay. It wasn't that bad. I'm actually proud of myself (except for my memorandum I turned in today). I really can't complain. My husband has been supportative by taking me to school and to the library. My daughter, well what can I say, she's only 20 months old.

But in all, I have to say that being back behind the desk (and not at the front) felt really good. I feel that I'm actually working toward a "real" job. No gen. eds., just practical learning. I think I'm actually liking this approach.

Anyways, enough of me trying to make myself see the postive and actually appreciate what I'm doing.

And, the answer is yes. What is the question, you ask? Simple, no questions this time. Just my thoughts.

Take care and until next time!
